Hangar 4 – Concorde Hangar
This Hangar is the home of Concorde G-BOAA, fully reconstructed after her epic final voyage by land and sea from Heathrow. G-BOAA became the first of the British Airways fleet to fly commercially when she flew from London to Bahrain in January 1976. The Concorde Experience exhibition traces the story of the Concorde, going back to Chuck Yeager breaking the sound barrier in 1947, through the design and build stage of the Concorde, it also outlines the experiences of the passengers and crew and examines the crash, the re-fit and the retrial of the supersonic fleet. The National Museum of Flight is delighted to see the arrival this season of a fantastic Red Arrow Hawk T.1A on display in Hangar 4 to celebrate the RAF100 anniversary. This is the same aircraft that led the Red Arrows flight over the opening of the Scottish Parliament in 1999.
