The Islamic Society of Heriot-Watt University (ISoc HWU) is proud to be one the largest and the oldest societies within the Heriot-Watt Student Union, serving over 1,000 students and staff annually across multiple campuses. We are dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community that upholds Islamic values while meeting the spiritual and well-being needs of our members. Key Highlights: Leading Premier Society: Recognized as the Society of the Year for consecutive years (2021, 2022, and 2023), reflecting our commitment to excellence in community engagement, educational initiatives, and social activities. Diverse Events: We organise a wide range of events, including: Academic Workshops and Career Sessions Fundraising and Charity Events Ramadan Iftars and Eid Festivities Sports Sessions, Wellbeing Circles, and Islamic & Interfaith Education Workshops Social Events: Movie nights, game nights, dinners, and our flagship Multicultural Dinner!! Community Support: With a diverse committee, including bilingual and trilingual members, we provide strong support to international students. We also maintain a prayer room on campus for daily congregational prayers and gatherings. Spiritual Leadership: Our Muslim Chaplain (Imam) leads Friday prayers, attended by over 150 students and community members, creating a key networking and community-building opportunity.
